Rezumat

This article deals with the legal consequences of the acceptance of inheritance and its withdrawal; and rejection of inheritance; the heirs’ responsibility for the deceased’s debts; transfer of the inheritance rights and of the inheritance obligations in accordance with the Moldovan inheritance law. The author found that these institutions form an essential part of the Moldovan inheritance law provided for in the Civil Code, which partially regulates them, but fails to fully address all issues that may arise in connection with the opening of inheritance. Because of a great number of lacunae, often there is a need to resort to the analogy of laws to find a solutions to such issues, which may place the parties in unfavorable situation.
