Rezumat

Punishment is one of the most important concepts of the criminal law that is why the researches regarding its stipulation in different legislations are always necessary and significant. There are many criminal codes that do not provide the notion and the purpose of the punishment. In fact the penal legislation establishes just the system of punishment. This system contains different categories of punishment, depending on the state policy, state location and, why not, religion of the population. This article makes a deep analysis of the punishment concept in comparative criminal law and represents a detailed study on the criminal legislations of different countries and systems of law.
