Rezumat
According to the last sociological study „Remittances and Migration in Moldova in 2006” there are about 252 000 people working abroad. Remittances from migration in 2005 accounted for 30% of GDP. But how affect migration the children’s and family’s lives? The author analyzes the positive and negative effects of migration on children left behind, on families’ members and the origin community in Niscani village. The data were collected using sociological methods such as in depth interviews with local public authorities and migrants, the study of children left behind.
