Rezumat

The author analyzes some explanations regarding the juridical and extra juridical acceptations of the blackmail concept. After a thorough analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that the notion of racket does not have to outrun the domain of journalism. In the juridical-penal vocabulary, its presence is superfluous. Much more important is the problem of substituting the term of “blackmail” by the term “extorting”, in the Criminal Code of Republic of Moldova. Our criminal law would gain more authority before its addressees and beneficiaries, if the linguistic level is improved.
