Rezumat

This article provides an analysis of science journalism, which is seen as a branch of journalism that uses the different techniques to inform public about science topics. The communication of scientific knowledge through mass media contributes to the formation of a scientific culture and the construction of basic scientific knowledge. The author presents an analysis of linear, gradient, and stellar models of science communication. It is widely assumed that science is no longer merely transported and translated by the mass media to a passive audience, but it is mediatized. Many authors believe that scientific issues are not discussed sufficient in the mass media nowadays. At the same time, science mediatization is usually diagnosed in three basic and widely concurrent dimensions: the coverage of science in mass media has extended, science coverage has become increasingly pluralized, and coverage on science has become more controversial.
