Social journalism represents a way of tracking and monitoring of social life in the dynamics of its development, therefore, objectivity and civic commitment must become basic qualities of a journalist. For this reason, this work highlights the ethical principles and professional standards that every journalist must comply. The reporter has the task of discovering, polishing, checking facts and journalistic adaptation, as eventually, to detect the essential aspects of information hiding under the surface and to establish some social contacts. But, these things are possible only when the journalist selects the most appropriate angle of approach of the event, to put it in a value and to present reality. Even if the primary duty of the journalist is to inform the reader, if possible, complete and detailed, dramatic and sensational materials must to be exposed more carefully and accurately, since the violent scenes or detailed description can cause reactions as both constructive and destructive, sometimes even can generate behavioral deviations. That’s why reality must be exposed not in terms of the politician or the employer, but primarily from the perspective of citizen.
