Rezumat
With a history of thousands of years, the phenomenon of corruption represents one of the most dangerous challenges addressed to the contemporary world. As its multidimensional form, it provided to possess an unexpected vitality, which is developing along with the society and the state’s bodies. Being in line with the process of globalization, corruption has affected the efficiency of the international cooperation relations. The following article is going to address a new approach towards corruption, especially the one related to the political dimension of international collaboration. Also, there will be presented the conceptual aspects of corruption, the evolution of the scientific approaches in analyzing corruption and some of the international instruments in fighting it. The international community represents the major actor in fighting this phenomenon. Corruption is affecting the achievements registered in implementing both global and national development and progress policies.
