One of the unsolved problems within the (Trans)Nistrian conflict regards the not established concrete border between the free Republic of Moldova and the Nistrian zone (both from the right and from the left banks of the Dniester river), controlled now by the Russian regular army and by an administration, formed by the Russian citizens, mostly who came from Russia. The missing clear agreed border constitutes a potential of escalation of the conflict, because villages which the Chisinau state administration considers as under the jurisdiction of the Moldova Government (Coşniţa, Pîrîta, Doroţcaia, Pohrebea, Molovata Nouă, Cocieri, from the left bank of the Dniester river, and Copanca, Varniţa and others from the right bank of the Dniester river) on the official maps published in Tiraspol are within the territory of so-called “Moldovan Nistrian Republic”. The article contains some proposals for solving this problem.
