The central thesis of this article is that child soldiers are protected under international human rights laws, international humanitarian laws, and international criminal law. The recruitment of children into armed conflicts is reprehensible and intolerable, which demonstrate a flagrant violation of international humanitarian norms. Despite the existing law on child soldiering, countries face obstacles in providing protection for their children and for this reason it is important to create an effective system of reintegration and rehabilitation and to ensure that former child soldiers are not simply re-recruited.
