Abstract

METAPHORICAL DENOMINATIONS OF THE PARTS OF THE HUMAN BODY Metaphor is one of the most common ways to model reality, and metaphorization is a cognitive phenomenon, which involves universal gnoseological mechanisms at the conceptual level. Medical terminology abounds in metaphorical terms. According to the data presented by the specialists, in the medical field are attested 3 500 medical terms-metaphors, of which 1000 are terms used in the anatomy and clinical fields. In anatomical terminology, metaphors predominate at the microuniverse level; transposition involves the physical properties (shape, size, location, state, color, etc.), the functions of the object (tactile, kinetic, etc.) in the "limited space".
