THE ECONOMIC EVOLUTION OF THE SOUTH REGION OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA AND THE RETURN TO THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OF THE AGRICULTURAL LANDS Despite the 29-year independence period, the Southern Region as well as the entire Republic is facing many challenges both regionally and nationally. The low level of economic development and that of the population living, the massive exodus of work force, aging and to a certain extent the degradation of the nation are some of the problems the population of the region is facing. In this context, it is important to know the history of the development of the region in order to identify the factors that have stimulated or stopped the evolution of the economy, but also to identify some solutions to recover the economic situation.
