In the inter-war period, a special place was hold by the problem of the European security. In this study, we are trying to show the action, which was taken by Great Britain and Romania in creating a new system of collective security. The primary step of this process was the Anglo-French guarantees given to Romania on 13 April 1939. The second measure was the negotiations between the great powers Great Britain, France and the Soviet Union in the summer of 1939. A special role in those consultations was played by Great Britain, in addition, Romania was implicated too in those discussions.
