Rezumat
The linguistic sign is a two-sided entity, and its constituents are: a concept and an acoustic image. F. de Saussure characterizing the linguistic sign called it „unmotivated”. After Saussure, there are non-motivated words in the language, but the great bulk of it is motivated. To demonstrate it, we can give examples from the breeds of dogs.
