Stages of development of science can be conceived as steps that lead to changes of the scientific rationality type. The change itself takes the radical form of global revolutions which resulted in constituting the three types of rationality. The article analyzed both the ideals and norms as constitutive elements of scientific rationality, which lead to the formation of a new type of studied objects and of ontological principles that determine the research objectives at each historical stage.
