The deictic centre is a linguistic model of text interpretation that encompasses the major elements of text composition – perceptual-cognitive dimension, spatial dimension, and temporal dimension – and is realized within the three-level model of fictional narrative communication. The study presents the analysis of deictic centre manifestation at the extradiegetic level. The identification of linguistic indicators of the given construct helps us follow the author’s point of view during the online reading and, consequently, enhances the reader’s comprehension of the narrative.
