ACHIEVING THE CATEGORY OF COHERENCE IN STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC WRITINGS

Based on a corpus consisting of scientific texts written by students, we have analyzed several types of consistency errors. In our approach we used the ideas and suggestions offered by text linguistics, based mainly on French school of linguistics and its consistency meta-rules. Keywords: coherence, cohesion, semantic unity, scientific discourse, text category.
