The present article has as a goal the analysis of the epistemic status of the anthropology of religion raised up on the explanation and interpretation of the forms of religious experience. The study exposed in this article tries to describe and, finally, to legitimate the hermeneutical and phenomenological approaches as indispensable methods for anthropological research of religious experience.
