The determination of the functional status of the prefixoids is of fundamental importance both for the revealing the processes and the derivational tendencies in English technical metalanguage of the telecommunications field, as well as for the specification of the English language affixes inventory. Affixoidation is included in the affixal derivational process when the affixoids, especially prefixoids, combine with autonomous bases of conceptual lexical units.
