MATEI CALINESCU: THE CONCEPT OF (RE)READING

Abstract

The text states some opinions referring to the main aspects of the (re)reading concept of M.Călinescu, related to an European and Romanian historical and theoretical context in terms of the reader response literary theory. Realizing a synthesis of the previous theses on this topic, M.Călinescu, by his work, projects his own middle position to what we call the phenomenon of reception that he submits to the (re)reading activity. Addressing the theoretician's innovations, the article intends to demonstrate the nees of interpreting and updating the subject of the re-reader in order to support the evolution of literature and the development of literary theory in the context of national scientific research, and also to the universal tendencies of the phenomenon concerned.
