STUDENT INDEPENDENT WORK THROUGH THE FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT The main objective of this study is to identify and analyze the essence and specifics of student independent work through the formative assessment in higher education. SIW contribute to the effective realization of educational outcomes and to the formation of professional skills of students in conditions of effective planning by the teacher and the student. Formative assessment aims the improvement of student independent work, if teacher and student interact with each other, based on a timely and supportive formative feedback. Formative assessment allows interactive regulation of SIW, so the student can to self-monitoring the independent work and the teacher – to adapt the teaching strategy. The efficiency of SIW depends on collaboration of educational actors – teacher and student, where each has its specific role in SIW. Improving training and eliminate the causes that block this process is effectively used by teachers and students, the strategy Student Independent Work through the prism of teacher and student. Improving SIW it is possible by improving the quality of formative assessment in higher education.
