FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT TROUGH PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACHES The formative assessment is emphasized in the current educational context, when it is insistently asked to shift the assessment of learning products to the assessment of processes during learning activity. From this point of view, the role of assessment is to support the learning and training. This article analyzes the concept of formative assessment from a philosophical point of view. Thus, the evolution of the formative assessment is determined by the influence of the following philosophical approaches: the humanistic paradigm, existentialism, pragmatism and functionalism.
