AFFECTIVITY AS A PECULIAR DIMENSION OF HUMAN PERSONALITY Our study approaches the issue of affectivity at the level of special dimension of human personality. At this level, the reflecting content and the reflection forms specific for simple, complex and superior affective processes are highlighted. As a superior product of affective processes, emotional intelligence does not exclude, but rather involves the opening towards other noncognitive and cognitive processes. From this perspective, we emphasise the thesis promoted by D.Goleman regarding the fact that emotional intelligence has an overwhelming amount of influence over the development of human personality. The importance of EQ in education is obvious at the level of affective and motivational empathy. In this context, Goleman proposes a process of “education of emotions”, which ultimately aims at cultivating “more democracy in the treatment of others”.
