Abstract
THE EFFECT OF DOPING OF ZnTe THIN FILMS WITH COPPER ON THE PHOTOVOLTAIC PARAMETERS OF THE ZnTe:Cu/CdTe HETEROSTRUCTURES In this paper we investigate the physical properties of thin ZnTe layers obtained by the quasi-closed volume method and then doped with copper on the J-U characteristics of ZnTe heterostructures: Cu/CdTe. Doping of ZnTe layers with copper was performed in chemical solution by dissolving Cu(II) nitrate in methanol. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) method was used to study the structural properties. The results of the XRD analysis reveal that the thin layers of undoped ZnTe as well as doped with Cu show a crystalline structure of zincblende type with preferential orientation (101). Also, the J- U characteristics of the ZnTe: Cu/CdTe heterostructures were studied depending on the molar concentration of Cu(NO 3 ) 2 and the thickness of the ZnTe:Cu.
