Abstract

THEORETICAL-METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS REGARDING THE APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PBL) METHOD AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES WITHIN ECONOMIC DISCIPLINES Project-Based Learning or PBL is an educational approach that uses real problems as a learning-centred method. The analysis of these problems leads to the acquisition of new disciplinary knowledge and problem-solving skills. A problem situation is presented to the master student before acquiring knowledge about a studied concept. By working with other colleagues, they analyse the problem, formulate questions, conduct a survey and research, create hypotheses and arrive at a solution to the problem. Instead of acquiring knowledge in a vacuum, not knowing how this knowledge can be applied, the problem attracts the student to new challenges, intervening at the level of complexity and research details. Students thus learn in the context in which learning will be applied in economic practice. This will lead to more in-depth learning approaches.
