Abstract
A STUDY OF CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES OF A BUSINESS INCUBATOR IN A UNIVERSITY SETTING Today, the future of students is uncertain, the guarantee of a secure job seems to be a distant dream. To meet these challenges, the universities need to adapt to a series of profound changes and specifically need to help the students develop a skillset to help them build a future, foster an entrepreneurial mindset that would make them independent and self-driven. This is possible by establishing incubators and innovative labs in universities, where academic knowledge meets innovation and people with common goals and values, all for the purpose of building remarkable things, in an economy that frequently changes its rules of the game. Education and training institutions should increase the creativity and the spirit of innovation in response to a changing environment. Teachers, trainers, and leaders in education should be encouraged to promote entrepreneurship, skills, and competences, while institutions should be encouraged to promote entrepreneurship, skills, and abilities. Academic knowledge and innovation create a perfectly favourable framework and context for the emergence and development of business incubators in both business and academia. Therefore, on the one hand, university business incubators have the purpose to create new small businesses by students, and on the other hand, the emphasis is both on the business itself and on the development of certain new businesses. The author of this article aims to highlight a series of conceptual approaches of business incubators located in a university setting, on the assumption that the society as a whole is aware of the role of education, in general, and of entrepreneurial education, in particular. Therefore, we will analyse the local and international legislation, we will study the programmatic documents of the universities, to determine the development conditions of the incubators. We will analyse the services they offer to students, such as: trainings, mentoring, consultations, workspaces. Keywords: business incubators, university incubators, university environment.
