Abstract

The Moldovan science being the part of the world science requires involving the world experience in the process of evaluation of scientific activities in the Republic of Moldova. In the present article, the problem of the quality evaluation of the Moldovan scientist and scientific teams’ activities is raised; the methods in use for evaluation of scientific activities and the principal science metric parameters are described; the experience of other countries is shown. The possible use of impact-factor and other scientific parameters to determine the contribution of the scientist in the world information stream is discussed. A special attention is paid to applying the quantity criteria for assessing the effectiveness of the scientists’ scientific activities in USA and Europe. The complex use of both objective and subjective parameters for evaluation of scientific activities appears to be the most reasonable approach.
