Abstract

In the given article the author presents the definition of the social economy and its importance in addressing social problems in Europe and Romania. Such concepts as social entrepreneurship, social enterprise and the social economy are highlighted, and the steps needed to be done to create favorable climate for business development of social economy are under discussion.
