MODELS AND METHODS IN THE STUDY OF POLLING SYSTEMS

Abstract

Polling systems find a wide application in different fields, such as computer systems, transportation, telecommunications, industrial processes, etc. [1,28]. In the article, a survey on scientific papers which refers to the analysis of polling systems is presented. Different models and methods in the study of polling system and their evolution are presented. Keywords: pollingsystem, queue, service discipline, service order, averages method, method of "catastrophes", generating functions method, branched processes method.
