Abstract

The aim of the current article constitutes an attempt to systemize the classical and modern theories referring to competitiveness of the national economy which became a real important concern in all countries, both developed and developing. The way of dealing with this concept has changed over the time and it became very complex through its significance, factors that determine it and the indicators that measure it. That is why it is necessary to delimit the competitiveness as a phenomenon, concept and indicator.
