DEFINING FEATURES AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BANKING SYSTEM AND THE BANKING MARKET

Abstract

The banking system, in terms of its financial intermediation functions, capital multiplier and handling of monetary policy instruments, has multiple implications on the socio-economic system of any country. In order to understand these implications and direct banking activity in such a way that their impact to be favorable to the development of the banking sector and society as a whole, it is necessary to know the defining features and the laws of the functioning of the banking system as well as the particularities of the banking products market. In this article, we intend to elucidate these aspects and to identify the changes and trends, that have taken place in the banking system during its evolution and specify the characteristics of the banking market system.
