Abstract

The convergent higher education represents a new form of university pedagogy, which harmoniously combines teaching-learning-evaluation methodologies and traditional rules for organizing university training with activity and communication practices of a digital character. This new form of university pedagogy gained visible contours at the end of the 20th century – the beginning of the 21st century, with the integration of new information technologies in the didactic processes in higher educational institutions. The mass implementation of new information technologies in ordinary university educational practices occurred later, however, with the establishment of the state of emergency in public health, determined by the COVID-19 pandemic. The new configuration of university education was applied on a large scale during the pandemic, when university learning was only possible at distance, this form being, at that time, the only one possible.
