”NATURA” MAGAZINE: THREE DECADES OF REFLECTION ON ECOLOGICAL ISSUES OF GLOBAL IMPORTANCE

Abstract
One of the magazines with a distinct appearance – NATURA Magazine – celebrated 30 years of activity. Although it has undergone many transformations over the years, it is considered one of the magazines with the longest publishing appearance in the media of the Republic of Moldova. For 10 years, from 1995 to 2005, the magazine represented the ”Naturopa” Center of the Council of Europe in the Republic of Moldova. It is also an important magazine for environmental journalism, being distributed in Romania, Ukraine and in the diaspora communities. The research focused on the several stages of the activity: the context in which the magazine appeared in the Republic of Moldova, the founding members, the circulation and periodicity of the publication, the high-profile topics that marked different periods of activity. The topics analyzed in that study focused on the specifics of the journal, the issues addressed, the activity during the pandemic, the role of the press in such critical periods, but also the role of NATURA magazine in the context of the media in the Republic of Moldova. During the research, more than 300 journal issues from archive were analyzed, in-depth interviews with media experts and journalists were conducted, existing data on NATURA magazine were systematized.
