Rezumat

In the latest years, the process of competition in the world has intensified. This enforces the economic agents that are at different levels to form some features and abilities that are necessary to successfully evolve competition struggle. This is made in order to confront the always rising threats that appear as a result of the competition process intensification, and of globalization in the international market. Most important among these characteristics is competitiveness. Competitiveness as an economic notion is studied at different levels, inclusively at the national economic level. Competitiveness of national economy is a new economic category and there does not exist a single accepted scientific interpretation of this concept. We presented the most known vision on the concept, the essence and factors that determine the competitiveness of the national economic system.
