Rezumat

Foreign direct investments flows represent a measure and expression of one’s country competitiveness. Foreign direct investments contribute to the economic growth, to the stimulation of the internal investments activity and to their qualitative improvement, to the creation of new production capacities, new working places, new consumers for the local utilities and raw materials supplying firms, and of the tax payers in economy’s system of taxation. At the microeconomic level the effects are more concrete and visible. So, the access to the modern technologies, modern management and know-how, markets and staff training strongly affected the enterprises with a high level of moral and physical amortization in a transition economy. Foreign direct investment constitutes a modality which compensates some deficiencies of local markets and makes their integration in the process of the economic globalization more efficient.
