In the presented paper, the role and place of the business incubator in the university environment as part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem is researched. It describes the concept of entrepreneurial activity, the importance of entrepreneurship in the business environment and participants in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In the research, the authors developed a structure of the business incubator in the university environment in correlation with the entrepreneurial ecosystem and suggested possible phases of the process of organizing its operation.
