IMAGE AS THE FUSION ELEMENT BETWEEN TELEVISION AND THE PRINT MEDIA

The author aims to examine the photographic image as an element of fusion between two constituent institutions of the media system, namely, the print media and television. Each of these two “tools / channels” of the media has its own specific ways of reflecting reality (for example, in the print media the design also has an important communicative weight), but, at the same time, common elements can be identified for both parties. One of these elements is the image (photo, infographics) which, according to some experts, is worth as much as a text made up of a thousand, even three thousand words.

The image is what “binds together” both sides, as a whole, it is in the author's vision, the component that twins the “printed” message with the “televised” message.
