Abstract

PARTICIPATION OF DELTAMETHRINE PESTICIDE IN PHOTOCHEMICAL PROCESSES OF AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT

Deltamethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. This pesticide is highly toxic to aquatic life, particularly fish, and therefore must be used with extreme caution around water. The present paper describes the results of the research on the photochemical transformations of deltamethrin into the aquatic environment and its influence on chemical processes of chemical water purification. Deltamethrin has a useful role in aquatic ecosystems. On the one hand, the pesticide is toxic to hydrobonds and is a risk factor for the biota of the aquatic environment due to accumulation in living organisms and the disruption of biochemical processes. On the other hand, deltamethrin has a positive role in the realization of the photochemical self-purification eco-chemical processes.

Keywords: deltamethrin, photochemical self-purification, direct photolys, free-radicals, inhibiting capasity of water.
