Abstract

REVIEW OF THE VARIETY OF RHEUM RHAPONTICUM L RAW MATERIALS BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES AND APPLICATION METHODS 

Numerous methods for the economic applications of rhubarb in industry depend on the diverse biochemical composition of various parts of the plant. The biological substantiation for the applications of rhubarb in plant protection was the aim of our research. The ability of R. rhaponticum extracts to exhibit fungicidal, detergent, insecticidal and stimulating types of activity facilitated the development of formulations based on extracts of rhubarb roots and leafs which exhibit significant biological efficacy to stimulate the germination of seeds, control of plant pathogens and pests. The combination of several multifunctional products enhances the pesticidal effect of the compositions, and the risk of developing pesticide resistance among plant pathogens is reduced.
