Abstract

DIVERSITY, BIOECOLOGICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE SPECIES Diplostomum spathaceum (Rudolphi, 1819) Olsson, 1876 IN FISHES FROM VARIOUS AQUATIC BIOTOPES OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

The research of helminth fauna of different fishes from different natural and artificial aquatic biotopes from the Republic of Moldova has revealed the presence of the species Diplostomum spathaceum (Rudolphi, 1819) Olsson, 1876 in the fishes: european bitterling – Rhodeus amarus (Bloch, 1782) (EI–35%, II–1-13 ex.); silver carp – Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (Valencienne, 1884) (EI–60%, II–1-13 ex.), Carassius auratus sensu lato (EI–27%, II–1-7 ex.); white bream – Blicca bjoerkna (Linnaeus, 1758) (EI–86,6%, II–10-50 ex.); pumpkinseed – Lepomis gibbosus (Linnaeus, 1758) (EI–80%, II–1-7ex.); round goby – Neogobius melanostomus (Pallas, 1814) (EI–67%, II–3-8 ex.); western tubenose goby – Proterorhinus semilunaris (Heckel, 1837) (EI–35%, II–3-160 ex.). The fish species ruffe – Gymnocephalus cernua (Linnaeus, 1758) and bleak – Alburnus alburnus (Linnaeus, 1758) were insignificantly infested. Depending on the level of infestation with D. spathaceum, lesions specific to the chronic form of diplostomiasis were noted. Also, due to the structural features of the eyeball crystalline, the chinese sleeper Perccottus glenii Dybowski, 1877 exhibits a high resistance to parasitic aggression of the cercariae of D. spathaceum
