Abstract

THE ROLE OF OXIDATIVE STRESS IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF MALE AUTOIMMUNE INFERTILITY AND THE USE OF NUTRIENTS WITH ANTIOXIDANT PROPERTIES TO IMPROVE SPERM QUALITY

Oxidative stress is a major causal factor in sperm dysfunction. Dietary supplements, which contain nutrients to improve sperm quality have a significant effect on male reproductive function. With their use, there is a decrease in oxidative damage to DNA, a substantial improvement in sperm quality parameters and overall reproductive function. The use of nutritional supplements, along with changes in diet, lifestyle and environmental conditions will improve not only the parameters, which determine the reproductive potential, but also the birth rate.

Keywords: spermatogenesis, antioxidants, lipid peroxidation, male infertility, oxidative stress, antisperm antibodies, reactive oxygen species.
