Abstract

CURRENT ASPECTS IN THE RESERCH OF THE MAIN SUNFLOWER DISEAES

Sunflower is one of the main oil crops, which is affected by a large number of pathogens that cause yield and crop quality losses. This paper presents a quantification of national and international publications on the main diseases of sunflower, in an attempt to identify the researchers’ directions of interest in this field. A bibliographic review is made for five of the most common pathogens of sunflower: Plasmopara halstedii (P. helianthi), Orobanche Cumana, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Duaporthe helianthi, and Phoma macdonaldii and the data on their spread in different areas of the Republic of Moldova during the last six years is presented.
