Abstract

EXPLORATIVE ANALYSIS REGARDING THE FIELDS OF SUNFLOWER RESEARCH AT GLOBAL LEVEL

Due to the quantity and quality of sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus L.) widely used in human nutrition, today sun-flower is the fourth oilseed crop in the world after soybean, palm and rapeseed and economically the most important field plant in the Republic Moldova used in the food industry.

The information on the species H. annuus L. stored in various databases of the NCBI portal served as a study object. The exploratory analysis was performed based on 30 keywords, including the most important specialised terms used in the sustainable development of the branch, including: productivity (quality  oil and quantity  harvest), which is the major goal in efficiency economic exploitation of crop; biotic stress factors (wolves, manna, phomopsis, white rot, gray rot, etc.), which is the most numerous class of investigation, as they are limiting factors of productivity; abiotic stress factors (temperature, humidity, climate change, etc.), as well as cultivation technologies (fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, crop rotation, etc.).

As a result, 250451 records were highlighted. Consistent with the hypothetical expectations, there is a significant amount of information in the form of bibliographic sources (literature), which include reviewed scientific articles. Among the research areas of sunflower included in the study, genetic research stands out, with the unique records worldwide, while phytotechnical studies show the lowest level.

Keywords: Botrytis cinerea, abiotic stress, biotic stress, Helianthus annuus, Orobanche cumana, Phomopsis helianthi, Plasmopara hamsterii, productivity, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, cultivation technologies.
