Abstract

THE ROLE OF VETERINARY MEDICINES AND MINERAL PREMIXES  IN ENSURING THE WELFARE AND HEALTH OF FARM ANIMALS

For the first time, the field of veterinary pharmaceuticals and the welfare conditions of the animal sector in the Republic of Moldova were evaluated. The particularities, structure and trends of the authorised units for the manufacture, ownership, distribution and dispense of veterinary medicines, feed additives and mineral premixes were studied. It was found that the amount of veterinary medicines, feed additives and mineral premixes produced in the Republic of Moldova does not fully cover their need (7.9% in 2020). Thus, the largest share of veterinary pharmaceuticals is covered by imports.
