Abstract

In the presented article we report on the investigation of phonon thermal conductivity in Si and Ge nanoslabs in the framework of molecular dynamic face-centered cubic cell (FCC) model and continuum approach (c.a.). We verified the applicability of c.a. for calculations of the thermal conductivity in nanostructures and found that c.a. strongly overstates (by the factors of 2 - 4) the thermal conductivity value in comparison with more accurate FCC model.
