Abstract

VARIATIONS OF ERYTHROCYTIC INDICES IN THE WHITE LABORATORY RAT IN EXPERIMENTAL DIABETES ON THE BACKGROUND OF ADMINISTRATION AQUEOUS EXTRACT OF NOSTOC HALOPHYLUM Cyanobacteria can be used in different branches of biotechnology, to obtain biologically active substances for the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetology, animal husbandry and plant engineering. The material of our research presents the Nostoc halophilum cyanobacterium strain, which is part of the LCŞ "Phycobiotechnology" collection and is included in the National Collection of Nonpathogenic Microorganisms of the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology. The present research completes the experimental data regarding the use of the aqueous extract of Nostoc holophylum, to improve the general condition of the body as a result of the normalization of the hematological indices in disorders of carbohydrate metabolism. The advantage of using the aqueous extract of cyanobacteria in experimental diabetes is the mild action and the lack of adverse effects when following the recommended doses. The administration of the researched extract highlighted the hypoglycemic effect and influenced the insulin level, the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin and hematocrit in the complications of this pathology.
