Abstract

The evaluation of some commercial sunflower hybrids with different origins in the conditions of the northern and so-

uthern areas of the Republic of Moldova was conducted during the years 2020-2021 in order to select the hybrids having valuable traits as additional sources for intensification of sunflower production in the country. It was established that the tested hybrids have a rich variability based on the morphological traits, which is largely dependent on the genotype, its origin and also the zonal and annual climatic conditions. The present article includes the data on the genetic potential evaluation of 6 sunflower hybrids obtained by means of some quantitative traits (leaf area index, leaf surface, amount of chlorophyll a and b, amount of carotenoids, plant height, number of leaves, average yield, oil content) and molecular markers (RAPD).

Keywords: Helianthus annuus, sunflower, hybrids, genetic potential, quantitative traits, RAPD analysis, marker.
