Abstract

The article presents data on allochthonous medicinal species from the Asteraceae family introduced and studied
in the National Botanical Garden (Institute) „Al. Ciubotaru”, USM (Collection of Medicinal Plants), the growth
dynamics of the number of taxa in the last two decades. In the period 2003-2023 the collection was enriched with
32 new taxa from the Asteraceae family obtained through the international exchange of seeds (Index Seminum).
The list of species with their scientific names, distribution area, institution and year of obtaining the germplasm
source, information on uses and therapeutic effects is presented. The largest numbers of investigated taxa have a high
adaptive potential to local conditions with a perspective of exploitation in the economic sector.
