Abstract
In an era of constant change and adaptation to environmental challenges, biodiversity conservation is becoming a
global priority. The globally implemented biodiversity assessment mechanism plays a crucial role in this fight. Aware
of the importance of preserving natural diversity, Moldova has adopted the biodiversity assessment mechanism as
an integral part of its international environmental commitments. This initiative, which has been incorporated into
national legislation, reflects a growing global concern to maintain ecological balance and conserve natural resources
for the benefit of future generations. In order to identify and manage potential threats to biodiversity and to focus
assessment efforts on activities that pose a significant risk to biodiversity, we propose an analysis of the scope of the
biodiversity assessment mechanism.
