Abstract
In the present article it is studied the composition of stands by species and their correspondence with the productive potential offered, in the conditions of the central area of the Republic of Moldova, located in the Straseni district,
Straseni forest entity. The most valuable natural and fundamental trees were preserved here. The main species is
present – the Quercus petrea, followed by the Quercus robur. Deviation of current compositions from optimal ones
is the resoult of of poor forest management in the past. Accurately establishing the reason for the deviation from the
optimal compositions will ensure the comparisons also made according to climatic conditions. The species structure
of the volume reflects the ability to capitalize on the natural conditions of the territory where it is installed.
