Abstract

The contribution of Moldova State University in the scientific, local and regional geological practice is incontestable and can be considered only at a superlative degree. In Chisinau State University (now MSU), founded in 1946, was founded the Faculty of Geology in which there worked a collective of teachers with a very rich geologic experience. They shared their knowledge of fundamental geology with students enrolled at the faculty, it was possible to train an illustrious constellation of geologists-specialists, who worked in Republic of Moldova, in different republics and regions of the ex USSR and became remarkable experts in various scientific and practical geology fields. In 2003, after an interval of about 50 years at Moldova State University there was reintroduced the specialty of "Geology". In the result there was liquidated a gap in students training in the general field of Natural Sciences and professional field of Geology.
